The Art Institute of Chicago  opens daily at 10:30 am; so start your day early by taking the #56 Milwaukee bus (1.5 blocks from Two Urns) to the last stop and get off in front of the Chicago Cultural Center and Millennium Park.  Explore the free art exhibits at the Cultural Center (Opens daily at 9 am); then walk through Millennium Park and capture your own artistic views of the city reflected in Anish Kapoor’s  popular Cloudgate sculpture aka  “The Bean” or spend a little time at the Crown Fountain –  what other city in the world lets you play in their fountains?

Then walk across the Renzo Piano bridge to the new modern wing of the  Art Institute:  AIC closes late on Thursdays at 8 pm, but all other days at 5 pm; the guards will start clearing galleries a little after 4:15 pm, so don’t wait too late to start your visit in this great art museum: 111 S.
