Check-in

Reservations are required.  We do not accept late arrivals or walk-ins.

If you are arriving before 11 am, we can arrange for early drop off of your luggage and you can return when your room is ready at 2 pm or later.  We run errands during 11 am – 1:30 pm and do not  have staff at a “front desk” as a hotel has.  We understand that flights can be delayed and Chicago traffic heavier than you ever imagined, so check with us to see if you wish to arrange a late “self” check-in ASAP or to arrange for a fee-based late check-in.

Check-in: Check in is always by appointment and  check-in is between 2 and 6 pm daily.  An alternative, non-fee option is to schedule in advance (min. 72 hours prior to arrival) a Lock Box “Self Check-In”.

Late Check-in incurs a $25 fee for scheduling a late check-in with overt-time staff between 6-9 pm daily.

After Hours Check-in incurs a $50 fee for scheduling a late check-in with owners between 9-10 pm

“Self” Check-in:  We can generally accommodate guests if they need to arrive after 6 pm. This is a good option for independent travelers.   We will set up a key-entry lock box on the front gate and you will need to open the lock box, take out the house keys, find your room and parking without any staff guidance.    We are early-to-bed and early-to rise innkeepers (to get those yummy freshly baked muffins and breakfasts made every morning) and we no longer check-in guests after 6 pm without a lock-box or fee-based late check-in with scheduled staff.

We do understand that weather and heavy traffic can cause unforeseen delays; however, if you have not arrived by 6:00 pm or been confirmed for a late or a “self” check-in  you will be considered a “No Show” (see Cancellations).  Our office hours are weekdays 10 am – 6 pm and weekends 9 am – Noon.
